Swimming pools are not always fun to have around. Because there will come a time when your pool will turn green and dotted with some ugly blue stuff making it look unhealthy to swim on. Your once crystal clear blue waters will suddenly turn into a hideous place in your house. And you really don't want this to happen to your precious recreational area. That is why it is important to make it a point to always clean your pool from time to time.

However, granted that a pool might be pretty big of a space to clean, the task at hand maybe quite considerable. Thus, you might find it convenient to make use of cleaning systems or machineries to do the job. But, it does not necessarily follow also that you cannot do it yourself.

While big pool cleaning machines are expensive, the manual cleaning tools are relatively cheaper. You might want to invest at least some amount of money for these inexpensive aides. This manual cleaning equipment will include a pool vacuum cleaner, a pool brush, and a skimming net.

Once you have them all, you can then begin your task:

Sometimes trees and plants the overlook your pool will wither its leaves on it. Over time they accumulate and eventually cover your pool. Withered leaves on the pool will not only make your pool look dirty, it would also make it susceptible for bacteria attacks. To clean the leaves that fell into your pool, use your skimming net to pick them up. Keep on skimming the pool with the skimming net until such time that you can clearly see that your pool is leaves-free. Place a container or a garbage can near you to easily dispose the picked-up leaves.

Empty your pool periodically, probably once a week for comprehensive cleaning. Overtime, your pool builds up algae making the floors and the walls mossy and slippery. Drain the water from your pool then proceed on by using the pool brush and brush the floors and the walls until you get rid of that mossy slippery feel caused by algae buildup.

In order to clean the water from any debris, the use of pool vacuums is necessary. Vacuums will siphon all the water from your pool to be filtered off from dirt and any debris. Do this every week to maintain the well-being of your pool.

There are also other more manual stuff you can go by in cleaning the pool. For instance, cleaning the drain is essential to be done every once in a while. You can do this by declogging your filters from all that got stuck there overtime. Dirt gets accumulated in the filters and if they are left unchecked and unremoved, they could lead to water contamination.
